The Story of Placido
In medieval Italy, Florence and Siena were fierce rivals. Circa 1260 a.d. they engaged in the Battle of Montaperti. Conte {Count} Placido championed Siena in victory and for his valor was awarded Poggio alle Mura, the fortified hilltop originally secured by the Etruscans in pre-Roman times. Conte Placido’s passion for fine wine and food was the Inspiration for this premier selection of wholesome wines of outstanding value to honor and bless your table.

Ruby red with an intense aroma that hints of violets. Dry and well balanced with black-fruit flavors followed by a long finish.
PLACIDO MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO DOC

Complex aromas with hints of cherry and spice. Rich, medium bodied with flavors of dried fruit, licorice, and coffee.
PLACIDO SANGIOVESE

Red-mauve, with fresh aromas of spicy cherry and violets. Soft and medium bodied with a lingering fruity finish.
